Nvidia’s own announcement says it has agreed to acquire Hugging Face for $12,930,300,000; it does not describe the transaction as already completed.

The claim is misleading if it suggests the transaction has already closed. Nvidia announced on September 3 that it had agreed to acquire Hugging Face for $12.9303 billion.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang’s official announcement uses the wording “agreed to acquire.” Reuters and The Verge independently reported the agreement, the price and Nvidia’s stated plan to keep Hugging Face open to models, clouds and computing platforms beyond Nvidia’s own products.
The deal is real, but an acquisition agreement and a completed acquisition are not the same event. Nvidia’s promise that Hugging Face will remain open is also a forward-looking company commitment, not yet a long-term outcome that can be independently verified.
Nvidia has announced a $12.93 billion agreement to acquire Hugging Face. Treat claims that the purchase is already complete as premature.
